The Press Club Serving The Philadelphia Suburbs will host their annual holiday luncheon 12 noon Wednesday, December 21 at the Edgmont Country Club located on West Chester Pike in Edgmont. State Senator Dominic Pileggi, Majority Leader of the Pennsylvania Senate, will be guest speaker.
Senator Pileggi has represented the Ninth Senatorial District, which includes portions of Chester and Delaware Counties, since 2002.
As Majority Leader, Senator Pileggi (www.senatorpileggi.com) determines legislative priorities, manages the Senate calendar, builds consensus on legislation to be voted, and serves as one of the chief negotiators of the annual state budget. A staunch advocate of improving government accountability, Pileggi led the effort to rewrite the state's 50-year-old Open Records Law, making most government records open to citizens and played a key role in shaping substantial environmental and public health legislation.
An involved community leader, Pileggi continues to serve on a number of local boards and organizations. Prior to his election to the Senate, Senator Pileggi served as Mayor of the City of Chester from 1998 to 2002.
Senator Pileggi will be available for a question and answer period following his presentation.
As an added bonus at the luncheon, Cucina Chatter’s Lorraine Ranalli, the self-proclaimed cook-next-door, saucy chef, radio personality and author of Gravy Wars, will entertain with her fun and unique perspective on Italian-American culture (www.LorraineRanalli.com).
A holiday basket raffle will also be available at the luncheon, with chances to win dozens of unique gifts and prizes.
