The Delaware County Press Club is a member organization of working and retired professionals in the fields of communications, print and broadcast journalism, public relations, marketing, writing and photojournalism, and communications educators and students.
The Delaware County Press Club is a reciprocal club of the National Press Club.
To facilitate career advancement among professionals in communications by building relationships, keeping current on industry trends and encouraging excellence among future communicators.
"I cherish friendships made through the Press Club. It's been a special part of my life since my first meeting at It's About Thyme in Media, when a belly dancer performed (hey, it's a form of communication, right?!).
Being membership chair, treasurer, vice president and president gave me a unique perspective on the club and the importance of its many dedicated members. My memories are many, but one that stands out is the relief (and gratitude!) felt when we reached one of our goals: the full endowment of the Crist Memorial Scholarship at DCCC."
- Bette Alburger, Press Club President, 1998-2001
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Welcome to the Delaware County Press Club!
As I begin my second two-year term as president, I have many goals that I’d like to achieve: continued growth of our network and membership; increasing our Annual Award in Communications Excellence; developing additional community partnerships; and presenting a variety of both informative media-related topics and entertaining speakers that will appeal to both members and nonmembers.
I’ve enjoyed my time leading this excellent professional organization for the past two seasons! The Board already has some exciting events in the works for the 2022-2023 season. In addition to our luncheon programs, we’ll be adding happy hours and weekend events and resuming our Behind-the-Scenes Tour Series. Perhaps a trip back to the National Press Club in DC too.
The Press Club has been a leader and valuable resource for journalists, broadcasters, writers, and marketing professionals since 1979. As we move the Club forward, we hope to strengthen our position in the region, keep abreast of trends in the ever-changing field of communications, and encourage and support future communicators.
If you’re a member, thank you for your continued support! If you’re a communications professional and not a member yet, please consider attending an event to find out more about what the Delaware County Press Club can offer you.
Andrea DiFabio, President
