About the Event
The Delaware County Press Club is proud to present a “WINNING” program in February! Our two guest speakers and our luncheon restaurant are all recent award winners!
Paul A. Bennett and his Sprit Media Group received the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Excellence Award.”
The J.A.C.E. Of Delco received the “Dedication to our Country & Education” award at the Veterans’ Freedom Medal dinner.
Margaret Kuo’s is a “Best of the Main Line” winner for 2022.
About the Program:
Philadelphia native, Paul A. Bennett, Publisher, The Spirit Newspaper, will share his insights about the importance and impact of community journalism. “The Spirit” is the ONLY state-certified, minority-owned news media company headquartered in the county. In 2022, Paul’s Spirit Media Group Inc. received the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Excellence” Award. As the founder of the Association of Black Journalists, Paul will also give an overview of his stellar career and 50+ years in the industry.
Also hear about the J.A.C.E. Of Delco (Juneteenth Artistic Collaborative Experience). Richard Blye and his J.A.C.E. committee played an important role in bringing recognition of Juneteenth to Delaware County. In appreciation of their devotion to their mission of remembering, memorializing, educating, and celebrating African American history in America, Blye and his committee were recognized with the “Dedication to our Country & Education” award by the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association and County Council at the Veterans’ Freedom Medal dinner in November 2022.
Bennett and Blye will take questions from attendees following their remarks.
During the program, guests will experience the culture of China with every bite as they enjoy a lunch featuring a delicious selection of Chinese specialties created by Delaware Valley businesswoman and entrepreneur, Margaret Kuo, a James Beard Foundation Featured Chef, and prepared by the award-winning team at Margaret Kuo’s Kitchen.
