Don’t miss the Press Club’s Season-Opening Luncheon!
The Delaware County Press Club kicks off the 2023-2024 season with a luncheon at State Street Pub in Media on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Special guest speaker is former Philadelphia Flyer and hockey analyst, Chris Therien.
A former NHL defenseman and seasoned hockey analyst, Therien will discuss his career on and off the ice. Aside from his work in hockey broadcasting, he expanded his scope of influence by taking on the role of Chief Wellness Officer for Pennsylvania Recovery Center and Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center.
As part of his dedication to mental health awareness, he authored a book, "Road to Redemption,' that delves into his personal struggles and experiences, shedding light on the importance of mental health in the context of a professional athlete’s life. Through his book, he aimed to inspire and support others facing similar challenges, encouraging them to seek help and prioritize their well-being.
All Press Club events are open to the public. Tickets for the season-opening luncheon are $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers and walk-ins. Reservations are recommended but guests may also pay by cash, check, or credit card at the door.
Therien’s book, “Road to Redemption,” will be available for purchase at the event. Cost is $50 for a signed book payable by cash, check, or credit card.

Tickets are $30 members, $35 for nonmembers and walk-ins.
