See What We Achieved Together!

Updated: Mar 22, 2022

As we reflect on the Press Club’s 2021-2022 season so far, the best thing about it has been you! Thanks for your support and participation. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

All in all, the first three months of the season have been busy. The Board created a schedule of in-person and virtual programs including networking events, luncheons, and happy hours, all designed with member interests in mind.

September’s networking event, The Press Club Celebrates the Arts, featured members of the Delaware County Arts Consortium for a meet-and-greet at Community Arts Center in Wallingford. Members and guests had an inside look at the organizations that pump creative energy into the County and heard about the third annual Delco Arts Week, an annual celebration of the arts. Members of Delaware County Council presented a resolution to the Arts Consortium in recognition of their work done in promoting the arts in Delaware County.

In October, members and guests spent a spooky evening with Matt Lake, storyteller and co-author of “Media Gothic: A Stroll Through State Street's Dark History.” Matt’s Media Gothic walking tour took us through Media’s eerie history while he spun tales of ghost sightings, government uprisings, subterranean tunnels, cadaver stories, witch trials, and more! Last stop at Sligo Irish Pub provided a delicious appetizer buffet while Matt discussed his career as a magazine and book editor and took questions.

November featured a special two-part event in honor of Veterans Day.

Our guest was Todd Robinson, a writer, producer, and director who also serves on the Board of Directors of Save A Warrior, a veterans’ advocacy group. In advance of the webinar portion of the event, he offered us an exclusive members-only viewing of his film “The Last Full Measure.” The webinar followed, conducted live from Hollywood, allowing participants to ask specific questions about the film and film-making in general, plus behind the scenes Hollywood stories. Following an annual Press Club tradition of support for veterans, the Club made a donation to Save A Warrior.

The season has been great and we couldn’t be more excited for 2022! The Board is finalizing event details through May 2022. Stay in touch at thepressclubpa.org or follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and information on Club activities.
